Whitney Houston and Dana Bash

Whitney Elizabeth Houston, born 9 August 1963 to an incredibly musical family from Newark New Jersey is the daughter of the gospel singers Cissy Houston and John Russell Houston Jr. She's also the cousin of the singer Dionne Warwick. When she was a kid she was a singer in the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark. When she was fifteen, Houston was singing professionally with backing vocals alongside her mother on Chaka Khan's 1978 song Im Every Woman. She then went on to sing backing vocals with Jermaine, Lou Rawls, as well as her mom.
